Originally conceived by Bloody Disgusting founder Brad Miska and producer Roxanne Benjamin, the ‘V/H/S’ anthology series sought to create a new horror franchise that would focus on found footage, short films with a number of writers and directors getting involved.
The first installment released in 2012 featured an all-star cast of filmmakers including Adam Wingard and Simon Barrett, who did “You’re Next,” Ti West, the mastermind behind the “X” trilogy, and the team at Radio Silence, a group of writers and directors best known for working on the two most recent “Scream” films.
The first film launched several more with numerous other creators getting involved over the years. The latest installment took a new direction with a focus on sci-fi horror shorts with Justin Long co-writing one of the features and Kate Siegel making her directorial debut with a script from her husband Mike Flanagan.
