The first look at “28 Years Later” has arrived with a trailer for the highly anticipated sequel to “28 Days Later” and “28 Weeks Later”….
What will humanity become?
Those are the chilling words at the heart of the first trailer for “28 Years Later” — the highly anticipated sequel to “28 Days Later” and “28 Weeks Later” with director Danny Boyle and writer Alex Garland returning to the horror franchise they first launched in 2002.
The new film stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Jodie Comer as they attempt to survive the ever evolving rage virus that has continued to ravage the Earth nearly three decades after the plague first swept the globe.
Along with the new trailer, we also got our first plot details with the synopsis for “28 Years Later” that you can read below:
“It’s been almost three decades since the rage virus escaped a biological weapons laboratory, and now, still in a ruthlessly enforced quarantine, some have found ways to exist amidst the infected. One such group of survivors lives on a small island connected to the mainland by a single, heavily-defended causeway. When one of the group leaves the island on a mission into the dark heart of the mainland, he discovers secrets, wonders, and horrors that have mutated not only the infected but other survivors as well.”
The film stars Taylor-Johnson and Comer alongside Jack O’Connell, Alfie Williams and Ralph Fiennes.
Oscar winner Cillian Murphy is also expected to make an appearance in “28 Years Later” after he scored one of his first major roles with “28 Days Later” but he doesn’t show up in the first trailer.
