“Scream 7” has added another new cast member with “Ghostbusters” veteran Celeste O’Connor joining the upcoming sequel…
Celeste O’Connor — best known for their role in the recent sequels “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” and “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire” — is the latest addition to the growing cast of “Scream 7.”
As of now, O’Connor’s role remains a mystery but they join a cast that includes original series start Neve Campbell reprising her iconic role as final girl Sidney Prescott while “Yellowstone” prequel standout Isabel May, who is set to play Sidney’s daughter in the film.
In addition to their starring roles in the “Ghostbusters” franchise, O’Connor has also appeared in the Sony/Marvel film “Madame Web” as well as the horror/comedy “Freaky” alongside Kathryn Newton.
While the plot of “Scream 7” remains a mystery, original screenwriter Kevin Williamson is returning to the franchise to direct the seventh installment of the franchise with Guy Busick returning to pen the script after previously working on the fifth and sixth “Scream” films.
Williamson returned to the “Scream” franchise after original plans for “Scream 7” fell apart following the firing of series star Melissa Barrera, which was soon followed by news that Jenna Ortega would also not be returning due to scheduling conflicts with her Netflix series “Wednesday.” Then director Christopher Landon split with the project and it appeared “Scream 7” was in jeopardy until it was announced that Campbell was returning to the franchise after sitting out the sixth film due to salary disputes with the studio.
“Scream 7” is currently slated to land in theaters on February 27, 2026.
