Scott Foley, who played Sidney Prescott’s half brother Roman Bridger in “Scream 3,” is returning for a role in “Scream 7″…
The surprise castings for “Scream 7” continue with Scott Foley — best known for playing Sidney Prescott’s half brother Roman Bridger in “Scream 3” — is returning for the latest sequel in the franchise.
How exactly Foley fits into the cast is unknown considering his character took a bullet to the head in the final act of “Scream 3” after Roman revealed that he orchestrated the events in the original “Scream” after discovering that Sidney’s mother shunned him as an illegitimate child that she had no interest in claiming. As a result, Roman caught Sidney’s mother having an affair with Billy Loomis’ father and he showed the video to Billy as a way to coerce him into committing the murders that would eventually lead him to Sidney.
Roman then carried out a number of murders of his own in “Scream 3” including Cotton Weary but Sidney eventually got the drop on him along with help from Dewey Riley, they were able to put him down.
There’s plenty of online speculation about how Foley might fit back into “Scream 7” — perhaps in a flashback or a dream sequence with Neve Campbell returning to reprise her role as Sidney for this film.
Whatever the case, Foley is back with filming already underway in Atlanta and he joins the cast alongside Matthew Lillard, who is finally making his long awaited return in “Scream 7” after he played one of the original killers in the first “Scream.”
The rest of the “Scream 7” cast includes Courteney Cox reprising her role as Gale Weathers, Mason Gooding and Jasmin Savoy Brown returning as twins Chad and Mindy Meeks-Martin as well as new cast members Isabel May, Celeste O’Connor, Asa Germann, Mckenna Grace, Sam Rechner, Anna Camp, Joel McHale and Mark Consuelos.
The film is being directed by original “Scream” screenwriter Kevin Williamson with a script from Guy Busick, who also wrote “Scream V” and “Scream VI.”
“Scream 7” is set for release on February 27, 2026.
