Robert Eggers is expected to reunite with two of his stars from “Nosferatu” with Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Lily Rose-Depp in talks to star in his new film “Werwulf”….

Director Robert Eggers definitely enjoys working with the same actors on many of his projects and it appears Aaron-Taylor Johnson and Lily Rose-Depp made quite an impression on him after starring in “Nosferatu.”

With Eggers preparing to begin production on his next film “Werwulf” in the near future, Johnson and Rose-Depp are currently in talks to land the starring roles in the movie.

“Werwulf” is set for release on Christmas Day, 2026.

While details around the movie are scarce, Eggers is expected to keep to his gothic roots with “Werwulf” taking place around the 13th century and use dialogue true to that time period including “translations and annotations for those uninitiated in Old English.”

It’s unknown what roles the two actors would play but Johnson is reportedly already signed on for the starring role with Rose-Depp deep in talks and she’s expected to join the cast once her deal closes.

Of course, Eggers has found great success with his gothic style horror films including “The Witch” and “Nosferatu,” which were both critically acclaimed and fan favorites as well.

In addition to his work on “Werwulf,” Eggers also recently signed up to create a new adaptation of the classic Charles Dickens’ tale “A Christmas Carol” as well. First things first is “Werwulf” with the movie expected to begin shooting later this year or early 2026 to stay on track for the 2026 release date.
