Stand up comedian Matt Rife is apparently a big fan of the paranormal because he just purchased Ed and Lorraine Warren’s actual home and the “haunted” collection that comes with it including the original Annabelle doll…
Comedian Matt Rife makes people laugh for a living but he wasn’t being funny when revealing the news that he and a friend just purchased the home that once belonged to paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren along with becoming guardians over their “haunted” museum, which includes the original Annabelle doll.
Of course, the Warrens served as the basis for “The Conjuring” films that launched back in 2013 with the final film in the series actually scheduled for release later this year. Both Ed and Lorraine Warren passed away but the home they shared continued to be a tourist attraction until 2019 when zoning restrictions effectively shut down the very popular haunted museum that contained dozens of items from their various “investigations.”
Among those artifacts was the original Annabelle doll — which is actually just a Raggedy Ann doll — but that became an iconic part of horror history after appearing in “The Conjuring” films as well as a couple of spinoff movies where Annabelle took center stage.
Rife announced that he purchased the house with plans to re-open it into a full blown tourist attraction once again — including overnight stays for guests — in the near future.
“I have officially purchased Ed and Lorraine Warren’s home and Occult Museum, including being the legal guardian for at least the next 5 years, of the entire haunted collection including THE ANNABELLE DOLL, with my good friend Elton Castee!” Rife wrote on Instagram. “If you know me, you know I’m obsessed with the paranormal and all things haunted. You also may know ‘The Conjuring’ films are my favorite scary movies of all time.
“So I’m incredibly honored to have taken over one of the most prominent properties in paranormal history. Ed and [Lorraine] Warren arguably put demonology and paranormal into the mainstream and are the very heart of some of the most famous haunted stories of all time, The Conjuring House, Amityville Horror, et… We plan to open the house for overnight stays and museum tours so you yourself can experience and learn all the haunted history surrounding this amazing place.”
The news that Rife purchased the Warren’s home and the occult museum comes just after recent tragedy when Dan Rivera died while serving as the handler for many of the artifacts including the Annabelle doll while traveling around the country in a tour where fans could purchase tickets to see and examine all the supposedly haunted items.
Of course his death was immediately met with conspiracy theorists claiming his passing was related to the Annabelle doll, although Rivera’s friends and other paranormal investigators have vehemently shot down those remarks. The Pennsylvania State Police stated his death was “natural” and there was no foul play expected.
There’s no word on how quickly Rife plans to get his Warren museum up and running but he’s obviously excited to allow other paranormal enthusiasts come to the home and check out the entire collection — including the Annabelle doll.
