The first full length “Nosferatu” trailer has arrived as Robert Eggers unleashes his nightmarish vision for the classic character with Lily-Rose Depp and Bill Skarsgard leading the way…
“Standing before me was death … but I’ve never been so happy.”
Those are the haunting words that Lily-Rose Depp speaks in the first full length trailer for “Nosferatu” — the adaptation of the classic film from 1922 by writer and director Robert Eggers.
The film set for release on December 25 features Depp in the lead role alongside Bill Skarsgard, who portrays the evil Count Orlok alongside a cast that includes Nicholas Hoult, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Emma Corrin, Ralph Ineson, Simon McBurney and Willem Dafoe.
Here’s the synopsis for “Nosferatu”:
“Robert Eggers’ Nosferatu is a gothic tale of obsession between a haunted young woman and the terrifying vampire infatuated with her, causing untold horror in its wake.”
The first teaser trailer released earlier this year gave a brief glimpse at the gothic world that Eggers was building for his film but now this full length trailer gives a deeper look at the kind of evil that Count Orlok is spreading and those dedicating to stopping him.
“Nosferatu” was a longtime passion project for Eggers, who found success in the past with his films such as “The Witch,” “The Lighthouse” and most recently with “The Northman.”
Now Eggers takes a stab at the classic vampire tale with “Nosferatu” due out in December.
