Uma Thurman is returning to television with a role in the new “Dexter: Resurrection” series on Showtime.
The Academy Award nominated actor has been crossing over between film and TV in recent years including an appearance in the short lived Apple+ show “Suspicion” as well as films such as “The Kill Room” and “Oh Canada.”
Of course, Thurman is perhaps best known for her iconic roles in some of Quentin Tarantino’s biggest movies including her Oscar nominated performance in “Pulp Fiction” as well as he critically acclaimed work in “Kill Bill Volume 1 and 2.”
Now Thurman is set to take on a main role in the new “Dexter: Resurrection” series where she stars opposite Michael C. Hall, who is reprising his role as the infamous serial killer carrying on the story started in “Dexter: New Blood.’
In the series, Thurman plays Charley, the Head of Security for mysterious billionaire Leon Prater. A former Special Ops officer, Charley worked various high-level private security jobs before taking on her position as the resourceful and meticulous right-hand woman for Prater.
In addition to Thurman and Hall, “Dexter: Resurrection” also sees past stars returning to the franchise including David Zayas playing Detective Angel Bautista, James Remar as Harry Morgan and and Jack Alcott playing Dexter’s son Harrison.
Clyde Phillips, who created the original “Dexter” series for Showtime and returned for “Dexter: New Blood” is also serving as showrunner for “Dexter: Resurrection.”
The “Dexter” universe also recently expanded with the prequel series “Dexter: Original Sin,” which has produced good ratings and solid reviews since first debuting.
“Dexter: Resurrection” is already in production with a debut date still to be determined.
