Believe it or not, Osgood Perkins is not a fan of horror films yet he always seems to get drawn back to the genre.
He found success with some of his early films but the breakout hit “Longlegs” made him a household name. Even before that movie became one of the most talked about films of 2024, Perkins was approached by James Wan’s producing team about an adaptation of a Stephen King short story that was being developed into a feature length film.
The original script was very serious and didn’t have a hint of comedy throughout.
That just didn’t appeal to Perkins but he decided if he tackled the project in a much funnier way that he could find a way in that would almost poke fun at horror but in a way that audiences might find appealing.
The plot revolves around a cursed children’s toy that brings about death and destruction everywhere it goes and twin brothers soon discover the horrific bauble has now essentially attached itself to their family and there’s really no way to escape it.
