The surprise success of “Terrifier 2,” which earned over $15 million at the box office on a budget of just $250,000 immediately transformed writer and director Damien Leone into a household name with horror fans and there was little doubt that a third film in the franchise would be developed.
Thanks to the sizable box office and the growing interest around the second film, Leone was granted a much bigger budget, which afforded him the opportunity to hire a bigger crew and expand his plans for the franchise with a story that would continue to explore the dynamic between the murderous mute Art the Clown and his new final girl, Sienna Shaw.
The primary cast returned from the sequel alongside newcomers such as Daniel Roebuck, Tom Savini and even “Lost Boys” star Jason Patric with production starting in late 2023.
The story of the third film picks up five years after “Terrifier 2” ended with Sienna still trying to put the pieces of her life back together after she stopped Art’s rampage through Miles County but she soon discovers that it takes a lot more than just decapitation to stop this clown….
