Lifelong friends Scott Beck and Bryan Woods are perhaps best known for writing “A Quiet Place” but years before that idea came to fruition, the duo from Iowa had an idea about a pair of modern missionaries who end up visiting the wrong house.
Often drawn into long conversations about deep topics like what happens when you die and if God exists, what is the one true religion.
They began hammering out ideas but soon realized they were ill equipped to write for the lead character in the story as a religious scholar.
So they put the idea away and moved forward working on other projects. It wasn’t until a couple of years ago when Beck and Woods decided to revisit the long forgotten script thanks to years of study and knowledge that allowed them to better write for their lead character.
What resulted was a story about two young Mormon missionaries who get drawn into a trap by a seemingly friendly man interested in learning about their religion.
But what they soon discover is that he’s actually going to force them to answer some impossibly tough questions to justify their faith.
