The massive and somewhat surprising success of “A Quiet Place” led to a sequel being ordered as actor, writer and director John Krasinski sought to expand his original story about a world thrown into chaos and silence after a horde of sound-seeking aliens lands on Earth and lays waste to anything and everything in their path.
The sequel starring Krasinski’s wife Emily Blunt was also well received so it didn’t take long for Paramount Pictures to begin asking for more.
That’s where the expansion led to a spinoff film originally being developed by Jeff Nichols, who just recently released his latest film “The Bikeriders.”
Nichols worked on the project for quite some time but he eventually split over creative differences.
That’s when Michael Sarnoski took over after he received rave reviews for his film “Pig” starring Nicolas Cage.
Sarnoski’s new take on the franchise was exactly what was needed and it didn’t take long for production to begin after casting Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o and “Stranger Things” star Joseph Quinn in lead roles. The spinoff film takes place in New York City at the start of the alien invasion when everybody finds out that a single sound could spell your doom…
