Jason Patric has joined the cast of “Terrifier 3” as “The Lost Boys” star prepares to go up against Art the Clown….
In a surprise bit of casting news, Jason Patric — best known for his roles in iconic films such as “The Lost Boys,” “Sleepers” and “Narc” — has joined the cast of the upcoming “Terrifier 3” sequel due out on October 11.
Production on the film wrapped recently with Patric joining a returning cast that includes Lauren LaVera, Samantha Scaffidi, Elliot Fullam and pro wrestler Chris Jericho as well as David Howard Thornton playing the murderous mute, Art the Clown.
In “Terrifier 3,” Art the Clown returns from the dead to haunt the citizens of Miles County just as they’re laying down for a long winter’s nap, all nestled in their beds preparing to celebrate Christmas.
“To say it’s an honor and a privilege having Jason on board is an understatement,” Leone told Deadline. “He’s one of the best actors of his generation and has a deep respect for this franchise and his craft which is why I’m thrilled for fans to see his pivotal role in the Terrifier universe.
“It’s not every day I get to work with the star of some of my favorite films (if you know me, you know how I feel about The Lost Boys in particular), so this has been a dream come true and a very exciting collaboration to say the least.”
A brief teaser for “Terrifier 3” was unveiled during a re-release for “Terrifier 2,” which was a surprise hit after earning more than $15.7 million at the box office on a $250,000 budget. The massive success for the indie horror film led to an immediate third movie being ordered with Leone returning to write and direct.
There’s no word on what role Patric will play but he’s definitely a huge addition to the third “Terrifier” film that lands in theaters in October.
