Jessica Rothe — best known for her role in “Happy Death Day” and the sequel “Happy Death Day 2U” — is set to lead a new sci-fi horror thriller from first time director BT Meza.
The film also stars Joseph Cross, who has previously appeared in films such as “Lincoln” as well as “Licorice Pizza” as well as TV series such as “Mindhunter” and “Big Little Lies.”
The film follows Ellie (Rothe), who is stuck in a cyclical nightmare. Grappling with a condition that erratically resets her memory, she’s left unable to remember her husband (Cross) or daughter (Julianna Layne). Each reset leaves her disoriented and haunted with vivid memories of a life she’s never lived.
Rothe’s breakout role in “Happy Death Day” ended up as a surprise hit after the low-budget horror film and the sequel ended up earning more than $190 million globally at the box office.
