Emmy winner Peter Dinklage, best known for his role on “Game of Thrones,” is set to play a pivotal role in the upcoming series “Dexter: Resurrection”…
The upcoming sequel series “Dexter: Resurrection” has added another A-list star with “Game of Thrones” favorite Peter Dinklage joining the cast.
Dinklage, who is best known for his role as Tyrion Lannister on the hugely popular HBO series, is joining “Dexter: Resurrection” as a series regular and by all accounts, he’s going to serve as one of the primary villains for the show.
Dinklage is set to play Leon Prater, a billionaire venture capitalist. To the world, Leon is a generous philanthropist, but behind his polished exterior lies dark intrigue. In the series, Uma Thurman is playing Charley — a former Special Ops officer who worked various high-level private security jobs before taking on her position as the resourceful and meticulous right-hand woman for Prater.
Dinklage joins a cast that also includes series star Michael C. Hall reprising his role as Dexter Morgan alongside past favorites such as David Zayas, James Remar and Jack Alcott, who plays Dexter’s son Harrison.
“Dexter: Resurrection” is serving as a direct continuation of the storyline from “Dexter: New Blood,” which was a limited series that picked up years after the original ‘Dexter” series ended in 2013. Right now, “Dexter: Original Sin” is airing on Showtime as a prequel to the original “Dexter” series as we follow a young Dexter Morgan as he hones his craft as a serial killer with a code to only take out those most deserving of death.
“Dexter: Original Sin” actually opens with a scene showing Dexter being brought back to life after his son Harrison shot and killed him in the woods in an attempt to finally end his murderous rampage through anyone and everyone who got too close to him. There’s no word on the plot for “Dexter: Resurrection” just yet but series creator and showrunner Clyde Phillips has said this is effectively just a continuation of ‘Dexter: New Blood” so almost like a second season.
“Dexter: Resurrection” is currently filming in New York with the series expected to debut on Showtime this summer.
