The second in a three-part saga rebooting “The Strangers” universe is nearing its release with the first look at “The Strangers: Chapter 2” being unveiled on Friday.
The film starring Madelaine Petsch as Maya picks up directly after the events of the first film where she somehow survived the horrific attacks perpetrated by three masked intruders in a bloody home invasion that ended with her boyfriend dead. By all accounts, Maya should have died as well after she was stabbed in the stomach before being left for dead but she somehow made it out of the encounter.
At the end of “The Strangers: Chapter 1,” Maya wakes up in a hospital room but it’s clear that her nightmare is far from over.
The second film “The Strangers: Chapter 2” picks up just after the first film ends with Maya realizing there’s nobody she can trust in this small town where she and her boyfriend made the ill-fated mistake of stopping on a road trip to their new home.
Now she’s once again attempting to find a way out of a deadly encounter — and it appears that she might actually end up in the same car as her masked assailants.
