The first trailer for “Heretic” has arrived in A24’s latest film as Hugh Grant traps a pair of missionaries in his house of horrors as a test of faith…
“I won’t keep you if you wish to leave … but i want you to choose which door to go through based on your faith”
The new A24 horror film “Heretic” debuted its first trailer on Tuesday as Hugh Grant plays a man who invites a pair of Mormon missionaries — played by Sophie Thatcher (“Yellowjackets”) and Chloe East (“The Fabelmans”) — into his home but they soon discover that leaving won’t be nearly as easy.
Here’s the official synopsis for the film from A24:
“Two young missionaries are forced to prove their faith when they knock on the wrong door and are greeted by a diabolical Mr. Reed, becoming ensnared in his deadly game of cat-and-mouse.”
The trailer reveals Mr. Reed as a homely looking man who seems rather enthusiastic to invite these young missionaries into his home — based on the premise that there’s a woman also inside but after he says that his wife is busy baking a pie, the unsuspecting girls enter with hopes of sharing their message from God.
What they soon discover is that Mr. Reed has no wife, there’s no pie and they can’t escape without enduring his house of horrors.
A24 is well known for unraveling some of the most disturbing horror films in recent memory so put “Heretic” high on your must see list for the rest of 2024. For now, check out the new trailer and get ready for this film when it lands in theaters on November 15.
