The trailer for the new film “Companion” arrived on Wednesday featuring a twisted love story between Sophie Thatcher and Jack Quaid…
A truly twisted love story is on the way in 2025 when “Companion” lands in theaters starring “Yellowjackets” favorite Sophie Thatcher and “The Boys” Jack Quaid.
A new teaser trailer for the film being produced by “Barbarian” creator Zach Cregger arrived on Wednesday with a brief look at what appears to be a date from hell that spirals out of control.
Set to the sounds of “I Only Have Eyes for You” by The Flamingos, the trailer actually opens with a teaser saying the film comes from the studio that also brought you “The Notebook” but this is anything but a tear-jerking love story. Actually, by the end of the trailer there are a couple of tears shed but that’s mostly because Sophie Thatcher’s character appears paralyzed as she’s handcuffed to her chair with her other arm set on fire after its placed precariously close to a burning candle.
There’s not much else to know about this film just yet but the imagery make it look like “Companion” is going to be a very wild ride.
The film from writer and first-time director Drew Hancock arrives in theaters on January 10. Apparently, the original plan was for Cregger to helm this movie from behind the camera but he ultimately handed off those duties to Hancock and now he serves as an executive producer on the film.
“Companion” also stars Lukas Gage (“Smile 2,” “Dead Boy Detectives”), Megan Suri (“Never Have I Ever,” “It Lives Inside”), Harvey Guillén (“What We Do in the Shadows,” “Blue Beetle”) and Rupert Friend (“High Desert,” “Asteroid City”).
