The directors behind “Talk to Me” are reteaming with A24 for a new horror film called “Bring Her Back” starring Oscar nominee Sally Hawkins…
Danny and Michael Philippou — best known for their work on the breakout horror hit “Talk to Me” — are returning to A24 for another horror movie.
The sibling duo, who are also developing a sequel to their original film titled “Talk 2 Me,” are set to direct the new project “Bring Her Back” with two-time Oscar nominee Sally Hawkins set to star in the movie.
Plot details are being kept under wrap but the project is being described as a horror film, which serves as Hawkins’ first foray back into the genre since she starred in the 2007 movie “WΔZ.” Of course she also received rave reviews and an Academy Award nomination for her work in Guillermo Del Toro’s “The Shape of Water,” which was a genre bending horror-sci-fi-fantasy that won the Oscar for Best Picture.
“Talk to Me” became A24’s highest grossing horror film, surpassing “Hereditary” at the box office after earning $92 million on just a $4.5 million budget.
It didn’t take long after “Talk to Me” found success at the box office for A24 to sign the Philippou brothers up for the sequel, which doesn’t have a release date just yet. Now the duo, who got their start making a popular YouTube channel under the name RackaRacka, are prepared to helm this latest buzzy horror project from A24.
