“Nightmare on Elm Street” icon Robert Englund was honored on Halloween with his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame…

“Nightmare on Elm Street” legend Robert Englund has officially joined the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

On Friday, which was of course Halloween, Englund was honored with his star on the Walk of Fame and he was joined by three-time co-star Heather Langenkamp as well as writer, director and producer Eli Roth for the ceremony.

Englund, who first portrayed famed horror icon Freddy Krueger for the first time 41 years ago when “Nightmare on Elm Street” was released in 1984, has been a working actor since his first role in 1974. He was best known as a character actor with his most recognizable role coming in 1983 when he appeared in the alien TV series “V.”

A year later, Englund starred in Wes Craven’s “Nightmare on Elm Street” and he became a household name while portraying one of the greatest horror villains of all time. Englund ultimately appeared in every “Nightmare on Elm Street” sequel as well as Craven’s “New Nightmare” and “Freddy vs. Jason” in 2003.

While he’s best known for playing Freddy Krueger, Englund has appeared in more than 100 roles across film and television, which included a famous appearance in “Stranger Things” season 4.

“I’m on my third generation of fans now… I’ve just accumulated this great fan base and for an old dog like me, that’s really great,” Englund said during the ceremony.

“I wouldn’t be here without the fans. Thanks for supporting me, thanks for going down rabbit holes on the internet (and) finding my old movies.”
