In the latest episode of Rewind of the Living Dead, we’re going to order some sesame chicken and put on a full fledged Broadway show as we review the 2024 horror-rom-com “Your Monster”….
Writer and director Caroline Lindy found inspiration for her latest film after she fell sick and went through a terrible breakup that left her feeling low and without much reprieve coming her way.
It was during that time that Caroline discovered her own monster — and she was finally able to express a whole new range of emotions that included rage and anger, which became a cathartic mechanism to recover and become a better person after going through it all.
In the aftermath of that ordeal, Lindy realized that sounded like a great idea for a story to tell so she ended up making a short film based on her experiences and the reception she received from that short film led to an expansion into a full length feature film.
In this version of the story, a young singer and actor named Laura feels like she’s finally got it all with a boyfriend writing a Broadway production with her as the lead but her world falls apart after being diagnosed with cancer.
To make matters worse, her boyfriend abandons her when she needs him most and she’s left all along with only the monster in her closet to keep her company….
