“Heart Eyes” director Josh Ruben has booked his next gig with a new horror film called “Wilderness Reform” based on a book of the same name…

“Heart Eyes” director Josh Ruben has found his next project and he’s sticking with horror after finding success with his bloody rom-com that stirred up over $33 million earned at the box office.
This time Ruben is directing the film “Wilderness Reform” at Paramount, which is based on the book of the same name from authors Harrison Query and Matt Query.
“Wilderness Reform” centers around a wilderness camp for troubled teens that is plagued by mysterious events and disappearances, taking survival and discipline to a frightening extreme.
Ruben is also set to oversee the script for the film, which is being written by Steve Desmond and Michael Sherman, who previously worked on M. Night Shyamalan’s adaptation of “Knock at the Cabin” — based on the book “The Cabin at the End of the World.”
Ruben first got attention for his directorial debut “Scare Me,” which was a critically acclaimed horror film that landed on Shudder. From there, he directed the horror-comedy “Werewolves Within,” which was another well received film that kept Ruben on the radar as a filmmaker to watch for the future.
“Heart Eyes” was his first major studio film with the movie centering around a pair of co-workers played by Olivia Holt and Mason Gooding, who are mistaken for a couple that ends up being hunted by a masked killer on Valentine’s Day. The film was well received and did well at the box office and now Ruben attempts to follow up the success of that film with his next movie.
Now Ruben is set to direct “Wilderness Reform” with Paramount serving as the studio behind the project.
