The first look at the long awaited “Salem’s Lot” film has finally been revealed with a series of photos based on the Stephen King book with the debut set on MAX in October…
It’s been a long, long wait for the new “Salem’s Lot” film to finally debut but the latest adaptation of the classic novel from Stephen King is set to premiere on the MAX streaming service in October.
Now HBO has released some first look photos at the upcoming film, which updates the original book that dropped all the way back in 1975. The new cast for “Salem’s Lot” includes Lewis Pullman (Ben Mears), Alfre Woodard (Dr. Cody), Makenzie Leigh (Susan Norton), Bill Camp (Matthew Burke), Spencer Treat Clark (Mike Ryerson), Pilou Asbæk (Straker), and John Benjamin Hickey (Father Callahan).
Here’s the official synopsis for the plot from HBO:
“Author Ben Mears returns to his childhood home of Jerusalem’s Lot in search of inspiration for his next book only to discover his hometown is being preyed upon by a bloodthirsty vampire.”
The film was originally set for release all the way back in 2022 but never saw the light of day. Warner Bros. eventually announced plans for “Salem’s Lot” to become a streaming premiere but even then there was no date set for its release.
Finally, the studio announced plans for the “Salem’s Lot” remake to land on the Max streaming service in October, although an exact date still hasn’t been determined. It’s like a trailer will soon follow.
“Salem’s Lot” was written and directed by Gary Dauberman, who has previously worked on the “IT” films as well as movies in “The Conjuring” universe with James Wan also producing through his label at Atomic Monster.
