“Evil Dead Rise” star Lily Sullivan is set to lead the upcoming “M3GAN” spinoff in an erotic thriller titled “SOULM8TE”….
The upcoming “M3GAN” spinoff called “SOULM8TE” has found its lead star.
Lily Sullivan — best known for her role in “Evil Dead Rise” as well as the recent sci-fi horror film “Monolith” — is set to star in the upcoming film “SOULM8TE” from Atomic Monster and Blumhouse.
Sullivan will portray an Artificially Intelligent android that a man acquires to help him cope with the loss of his recently deceased wife. As he attempts to create a truly sentient partner, the man accidentally turns a harmless lovebot into a deadly soulmate.
The film is posed as a classic 90s erotic thriller but with a modern, technological twist.
While this movie is set in the same universe as “M3GAN,” the spinoff is expected to push boundaries and be a lot more risque than the PG-13 film that was a surprise hit as the first film produced together by Blumhouse and Atomic Monster.
Kate Dolan — best known for her film “You Are Not My Mother“ — will direct the film. Dolan rewrote an original draft written by Rafael Jordan with the story by James Wan, Ingrid Bisu and Jordan.
With Sullivan cast as the deadly robot in the film, expect more casting news to come soon with production starting later this year. Meanwhile “M3GAN 2” is also coming soon with that film set for release on June 27, 2025.
