Demian Rugna’s 2017 nightmare fueled film “Terrified” is being remade by “Alien Earth” and “Fargo” showrunner Noah Hawley …

Noah Hawley — best known for creating the recent “Alien Earth” series as well as the long running anthology show “Fargo” — is crossing back over into filmmaking for his next project. He’s set to direct a remake of the 2017 Argentinean horror film “Terrified,” which was written and directed by Demian Rugna, who also made the recent horror hit “When Evil Lurks.”
Hawley is set to direct and produce the film for Warner Bros. with Rugna on board to help him recreate the film, which centered around a police officer and a group of paranormal investigators who are attempting to figure out what’s happening behind a series of supernatural occurrences all centered in one small neighborhood in Buenos Aires.
While Hawley is best known for his work on television, which also includes his adaptation of the Marvel mutant series “Legion,” he made his feature film directorial debut back in 2019 with the psychological drama “Lucy in the Sky.”
He’s now returning to remake “Terrified” as an English language film after the original was actually a Spanish film titled “Aterrados” when it was first released. Rugna’s film became a cult classic, especially after landing on American streaming services such as Shudder with his next film “When Evil Lurks” also receiving rave reviews.
It’s unclear if Rugna is actually going to help write the script for the “Terrified” remake but he’s definitely involved helping Hawley develop the project for Warner Bros.
