Kiernan Shipka and McKenna Grace are teaming up for a new survival thriller directed by the same team from “The Boy Behind the Door” and “The Djinn”….

Kiernan Shipka and McKenna Grace are set to star in a new survival thriller film titled “The Nowhere Game” with David Charbonier and Justin Powell set to direct from a script by Alex Potosky.

Shipka — who is best known for her past roles in “The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” as well as her appearance in “Longlegs” — is no stranger to horror films while Grace — who starred in “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” and “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire” along with a role in the upcoming sequel “Scream 7” — is also a veteran of the genre.

Here’s the synopsis for “The Nowhere Game”:

“The film follows Carin (Grace) and Allie (Shipka), whose road trip takes a harrowing turn when the two young women are kidnapped by a cold-blooded sadist and thrust into a brutal game of survival. With a short head start, Carin and Allie will be set loose in the forest with limited supplies while being hunted in front of an online audience watching in grim fascination. With no sign of civilization and no way to call for help, the women rely on their wits and each other to evade capture. Navigating the hostile wilderness, they discover eerie clues left behind by previous “contestants,” painting a grim picture of the stakes they face. As the hunter closes in, realization dawns on them: surviving isn’t just improbable — it’s nearly impossible. Carin and Allie must shed their fear and transform from prey to predator to bring this twisted game to its final, bloody conclusion.”

Charbonier and Powell are not only lifelong friends but frequent collaborators after receiving critical praise for their work on films such as “The Boy Behind the Door” and “The Djinn.” Their next feature film titled “Push” already made its premiere at the Stiges Film Festival with a wide release expected in 2025.

The film is being produced by Picturestart, which just recently sold the body horror film “Together” starring Dave Franco and Alison Brie to Neon following a successful debut at the Sundance Film Festival.
