The first look at “The Conjuring: Last Rites” reveals Ed and Lorraine Warren showing up to help a family being haunted and they take on their final demon in this last film in the series…
The first trailer for “The Conjuring: Last Rites” reveals Ed and Lorraine Warren coming out of retirement to help a family being tormented by a vengeful spirit inside their homes.
Based on the actual case of the Smurl family — a haunted that attracted the real Warrens to get involved back in the 1980s — the film version features the final appearance of Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga as the demon hunting couple looking for one last haunt before calling it a career.
The story picks up five years after the events of “The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It” with Ed and Lorraine Warren actually retired from paranormal investigations and instead just speaking on the university circuit while also making other appearances to pay the bills. But when a family comes calling to seek their help dealing with a particularly nasty spirit, the Warrens spring back into action to help.
Farmiga and Wilson star alongside Mia Tomlinson and Ben Hardy, who portray Ed and Lorraine’s daughter Judy Warren and her boyfriend, Tony Spera, as well as Steve Coulter returning as Father Gordon, Rebecca Calder, Elliot Cowan, Kíla Lord Cassidy, Beau Gadsdon, John Brotherton and Shannon Kook.
The film is directed by Michael Chaves, a veteran of “The Conjuring” universe with a script from Ian Goldberg & Richard Naing and David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick with a story by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick and James Wan.
