The new trailer for “IT: Welcome to Derry” travels back to 1962 when Pennywise was haunting a new group of children in Derry and parents who just don’t believe them…
The return to the “IT” universe is almost here with the first trailer for “Welcome to Derry” — the new prequel series headed to HBO Max that revisits Pennywise the Clown tormenting a whole new group of children in Derry, Maine.
The story takes place in 1962 and much like the Loser’s Club that arrives in Derry years later, the kids in Derry know something is wrong with the town but things get dramatically worse when a terrifying clown is out to kill them.
Set in the world of Stephen King’s “IT” universe, “IT: Welcome to Derry” is based on King’s “IT” novel and expands the vision established by filmmaker Andy Muschietti in the feature films “IT” and “IT Chapter Two.” Muschietti is once again the architect behind this latest journey into the “IT” universe as he takes a new stab at King’s classic story.
The cast for the new series includes Taylour Paige, Jovan Adepo, Chris Chalk, James Remar, Stephen Rider, Madeleine Stowe, Rudy Mancuso, and Bill Skarsgård reprising his role as Pennywise the Clown.
Check out the new trailer for “IT: Welcome to Derry” and get ready for the series to arrive on HBO Max in the fall with an exact debut date still to be determined.
