“Stranger Things” co-creator Ross Duffer has revealed the run times for the first four episodes after rumors spread that each one would run at least 90 minutes…
The final season of “Stranger Things” kicks off with four episodes dropping on November 26 at 8 p.m. ET and now the run times for those episodes have been revealed.
Ahead of the final season, which consists of eight total episodes, there were rumors that the creators Matt and Ross Duffer planned for each installment to run between 90 minutes to 2 hours in length. The Duffer brothers quickly shot down those reports but now we know the run times for at least the first four episodes.
Ross Duffer took to Instagram to show the times for each episode before they debut on Netflix in November. Here’s the list:
Chapter 1: The Crawl — 1 hour, 8 minutes
Chapter 2: The Vanishing Of … — 54 minutes
Chapter 3: The Turnbow Trap — 1 hour, 6 minutes
Chapter 4: Sorcerer — 1 hour, 23 minutes
So that settles any debate about whether or not these “Stranger Things” episodes are all going to be super sized heading into the final season.
Now there’s still four more episodes to dish out after this initial release with the next three episodes coming on Christmas Day and the “Stranger Things” series finale dropping on New Year’s Eve. It’s likely we won’t find out those run times until a later date as the Duffer brothers continue to finish putting the final touches on those episodes before the release.
The final season kicks off in the fall in 1987 and here’s the official synopsis from Netflix:
“Hawkins is scarred by the opening of the Rifts, and our heroes are united by a single goal: find and kill Vecna. But he has vanished — his whereabouts and plans unknown. Complicating their mission, the government has placed the town under military quarantine and intensified its hunt for Eleven, forcing her back into hiding. As the anniversary of Will’s disappearance approaches, so does a heavy, familiar dread. The final battle is looming — and with it, a darkness more powerful and more deadly than anything they’ve faced before. To end this nightmare, they’ll need everyone — the full party — standing together, one last time.”
In addition to the regular cast of characters returning, “Stranger Things” season 5 also added the iconic Linda Hamilton as Dr. Kay with Nell Fisher as Holly Wheeler, Jake Connelly as Derek and Alex Breaux as Lt. Akers.
