In the latest episode of Rewind of the Living Dead, we’re going to make sure the elevator and the stairwells are cleared, take out our piercings and avoid death at all costs as we review the 2025 sequel “Final Destination: Bloodlines”…

Talks about resurrecting the “Final Destination” film franchise happened for years after the series went dormant following the fifth sequel’s release in 2011.

Jon Watts — a director made famous from his work on several “Spider-Man” films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe — expressed his interest in getting involved in bringing the franchise back to life and he personally worked on a new story alongside screenwriters Lori Evans Taylor and Guy Busick.

Warner Bros. was all about returning to see what was next for death’s design and the project found a directing duo after Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein showed their passion for the franchise by actually pulling off a wild stunt where one of them was decapitated during a meeting with executives to pitch their idea.

With the directors and writers secured, the new sequel got into production with the story centered around a woman who manages to escape death during a disastrous high rise collapse in 1968 while simultaneously saving hundreds more with her premonition.

Fast forward to present day and now death is coming back around — not only for her but the families of every survivor who was never meant to make it out of that building alive….
