Kevin Williamson became a household name after his “Scary Movie” script transformed into Wes Craven’s “Scream” and the film was hailed as one of the most creative and original horror films in years.
Prior to “Scream,” Williamson had written a screenplay based on a young adult novel by Lois Duncan that nobody seemed interested in making.
Pitch after pitch came up short but when “Scream” became a smash hit, Williamson’s other screenplays suddenly had interest from just about everybody in Hollywood.
One in particular centered around a group of four friends who are celebrating graduation when the party turns fatal after a hit and run car accident leaves somebody dead. The friends decide to cover up the murder and keep this deadly secret to themselves but one year later, somebody starts stalking them for the crime they committed because this killer knows exactly what they did last summer …
