Tony Todd, who is best known for his role in the “Candyman” series as well as the “Final Destination” films, has died at the age of 69….

Tony Todd — a powerhouse actor who appeared in the “Candyman” and “Final Destination” franchises — has died at the age of 69.

Todd died at his home in Marina Del Ray, Calif. after a long illness. His wife Fatima announced the news via The Hollywood Reporter.

Originally from Washington D.C., Todd studied theater at the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center and the Trinity Repertory Company in Rhode Island.

He made his first appearance on screen in the 1986 film “Sleepwalk” and then landed a role in the Oliver Stone Vietnam War epic “Platoon” that same year. Todd eventually crossed over into horror with the 1990 remake of “Night of the Living Dead” before landing his most iconic role in the 1992 film “Candyman.”

He would go onto star in two more sequels in the franchise while also making an appearance in the 1994 film “The Crow” alongside the late Brandon Lee.

In 2000, Todd appeared in the death defying horror film “Final Destination,” portraying Willilam Bludworth — a funeral director who offers advice to two teenagers who escaped a plane just before it detonated and who are now attempting to cheat death again. Todd appeared in several sequels in the “Final Destination” franchise as well.

Over the years, Todd appeared in over 200 films and TV series including roles in the “Hatchet” franchise, “Hell Fest” and famously lended his voice for the character Zoom in “The Flash” series for the CW.

Todd is survived by his wife and two children.
