Filmmaker Ian Tuason was an early proponent for immersive 3D sound in all of his horror short films and that immediately got him recognized for his attention to detail.
Those swooping, sonic tones became his calling card so it was only natural that he would use that to pen what became a massive 250-page script for his first feature film.
But what really showed through in his screenplay was Tuason’s own personal story injected into the characters after he moved back home to Toronto to care for his ailing parents in 2020 during the height of the global pandemic after they were both diagnosed with terminal cancer.
As their only caregiver, Tuason felt all of the immense loss and pain from that tragic situation and he injected it into his script with the lead character based on his own experiences.
In the film, a woman named Evy hosts a podcast with her friend Justin where she acts as the skeptic to him as the true believer in all things supernatural. But when a mysterious set of 10 recordings land in their inbox, she soon discovers that not everything can be explained …
