“In a Violent Nature 2” has wrapped filming on the sequel with new plot details also revealed ahead of the movie’s release…

“In a Violent Nature 2” has wrapped production and now the film is being marketed ahead of its eventual release after the first film became a breakout and critically acclaimed hit when it landed in theaters and Shudder in 2024.
The original film followed a slasher named Johnny, who is resurrected after some kids foolishly remove a golden locket for his grave and he returns from the dead to find it and kill anybody who gets in his way. The unique take on “In a Violent Nature” was that the film was shot almost entirely from the killer’s point of view as he stalked and hunted down a group of teenagers in the woods.
The sequel, which started shooting in Canada this past September and has since wrapped production, picks up with Johnny once again being awoken from his slumber and this time he heads to a summer camp, where he crosses paths with a young, outcast camper who is forced to spend the night with his counselor sister and her friends at their annual end-of-season party.
Ry Barrett is returning to play Johnny in the sequel along with Lucas Nguyen, Olivia Scriven, Laurie Babin, Fionn Laird, Donald MacLean Jr. and Evan Marsh. Chris Nash is returning as writer and director after he also led the first film.
Paris based company Charades is on board to help sell the movie internationally with additional distribution plans for release still to be determined.
“‘In a Violent Nature 2‘ is a first feature, driven by a new vision, with more kills, more blood, hopefully even more iconic,” Charades’ co-founders Carole Baraton, Pierre Mazars and Yohann Comte told Variety.
There’s no word yet when “In a Violent Nature 2” will actually hit theaters but it sounds like 2026 is certainly a possibility now that the film is in post-production with filming already wrapped.
