The first photos from “Ready or Not 2: Here I Come” have been revealed with a star-studded cast joining Samara Weaving for the sequel…
Samara Weaving is fighting for her life again in the first look images from “Ready or Not 2: Here I Come” — the highly anticipated sequel to the original 2019 horror-comedy that became a breakout hit for filmmakers Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett — better known as Radio Silence — who went onto direct to “Scream” sequels as well as the the recent horror film “Abigail.”
The first look at the new film comes from photos released on Monday that feature Weaving back in her role as Grace — the doomed bride, who battles her way through a wealthy family trying to sacrifice her to appease a deal with the devil they made centuries earlier.
This time around she’s joined by new cast members including Kathryn Newton, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Elijah Wood, Sean Hatosy, Néstor Carbonell, Kevin Durand, Olivia Cheng and David Cronenberg.
“I was a bit nervous and not sure if I would remember what I was doing in the first one, but once I put that dress back on, I got super excited,” Weaving told People about her return to the role “The entire character came flooding back. We were all quite emotional in that fitting, actually. Revisiting the character is one thing but working with that crew again was the best part.”
Bettinelli-Olpin and Gillett acknowledged how much “Ready or Not” changed the trajectories of their careers and returning for a sequel just felt like the right thing to do.
“We never dreamed ;Ready or Not’ would connect with people the way it has over the past few years and feel so honored to get to step back into Grace’s world,” Gillett and Bettinelli-Olpin said
“The original movie really changed our lives in countless ways and to see Samara back in that character and back in that dress felt really special to us.”
