Are you down with clown?
Well, Pennywise is back in the first full trailer for “IT: Welcome to Derry” — the new eight episode series set in the same universe as “IT: Chapter One” and “IT: Chapter Two.”
This time around, the story travels back to the 1960’s — decades prior to the events in the first of two films — and the manifestation of pure evil that takes the form of a clown is back to haunt the children of this usually quiet little town.
Here’s the official synopsis for “IT: Welcome to Derry” from HBO:
“Set in the world of Stephen King’s “IT” universe, IT: WELCOME TO DERRY is based on King’s “IT” novel and expands the vision established by filmmaker Andy Muschietti in the feature films “IT” and “IT Chapter Two.”
The series stars ovan Adepo, Taylour Paige, Chris Chalk, James Remar, Stephen Rider, Madeleine Stowe, Rudy Mancuso with Bill Skarsgård reprising his role as Pennywise from the original films. The series was developed by original “IT” director Andy Muschietti along with Barbara Muschietti and Jason Fuchs, based on the novel by Stephen King.
“IT: Welcome to Derry” debuts on Sunday, October 26 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on HBO and will be available to stream on HBO Max. The series debuts a new episode each Sunday leading to the season finale on December 14.
