The full trailer for “Weapons” reveals a classroom full of children going missing and a town seeking answers in the new horror film from “Barbarian” director Zach Cregger…
“This is a true story that happened in my town. So this one Wednesday is like a normal day for the whole school, but today was different. Every other class had all their kids, but Mrs. Gandy’s room was totally empty.
“And do you know why? Because the night before, at 2:17 in the morning, every kid woke up, got out of bed, walked downstairs and into the dark. And they never came back.”
That’s the haunting premise at the heart of the trailer for the upcoming horror film “Weapons,” which comes from “Barbarian” director Zach Cregger in his second feature film.
The film stars Julia Garner as a school teacher at the center of suspicion after all of the children from her classroom minus one goes missing and the people from town are not only terrified but looking for answers with only one person to blame. Josh Brolin stars as a grieving father trying to find his child and he’s pointing the finger directly at Garner’s Mrs. Gandy.
The film also stars Alden Ehrenreich, Austin Abrams, Cary Christopher with Benedict Wong, and Amy Madigan.
Here’s the full premise for “Weapons” from Warner Bros.:
“When all but one child from the same class mysteriously vanish on the same night at exactly the same time, a community is left questioning who or what is behind their disappearance.”
The trailer definitely features more than a few creepy moments and “Weapons” is already being hailed as one of the buzziest horror films of the year.
“Weapons” lands in theaters on August 8 but for now check out the new trailer and you can also check out the poster for the film below:
